Francis Müller works as researcher and lecturer in the section “Trends & Identity” (Bachelor and Master) in the Department of Design of the Zurich University of the Arts. His main themes there are anthropology of culture, ethnography and symbolic interaction. He made his PhD in the University Bayreuth (Germany) about conversion narratives of Pentecostals from Ghana in Zurich and he did research about land mine victims and disability in Angola. He worked more than 15 years as journalist (Financial Times Deutschland, Neue Zürcher Zeitung etc.), he is lecturer in the University of St. Gallen (“sociology of things” and “sociology of consumption”) and visiting professor in the University Pontificia Valparaíso in Chile. He is member of the editorial board of the scientific journal DIS of the University Iberoamericana in Mexico. In his last book he treats methodological and epistemological questions in ethnography in the design field.
