Student, Bachelor in Trends & Identity,
University of Arts Zürich
Romina Häner is currently studying in the 5th Semester of the bachelor course Trends & Identity (earlier called Style & Design) at the University of Arts in Zurich. Before entering the design field, she did a commercial apprenticeship in administrations and worked as an administrator in a Swiss health insurance in Basel. There she learned, among the various work specific skills, the importance of teamwork and the professional interaction with clients. Missing the creativity in her profession, she decided to go back to school to get the license to go to university and finished in a further step the creative recourse.
Choosing Trends & Identity was a decision of heart and intuition – and this is exactly the way how she translates her ideas into her projects. If something feels good, it’s gonna be good.
During a four week course the aim was to create an event. Anouk Schädler, Gioanna Michel and me created a fashionshow. The concept was to buy secondhand clothes and combine them in a stylish way, so the audience would think they're new. We disclosed the secret at the fashion show and sold the pieces for the prime cost.
"Scents of time"
What do you think of when you smell fresh mown grass? Which scents bring you back to your childhood? Questions like these were the inspiration behind our short movie "Scents of Time", made by Carolina Miztela and me. It's a colorful, vivid, deeply emotional and personal view into someone's memories - through scents.
This project started with an intense material research, during which I tested different material combinations. I came up with the combination of concrete and colored epoxy. The form is a handy decoration platter, on which the owner can arrange food, jewellery or anything they would like to.
